This case involved the taking of a 1.87 acre parcel that was improved with a 1565 square foot residence for widening of Miss. Hwy. 7 south of Oxford.  The 50 year old house on the property was being used for residential purposes but the property had potential for future commercial use.  The State offered $157,000.00 for the property.  A Lafayette County Jury awarded the property owner just compensation in the amount of $350,000.00.
