DeSoto County: Interstate 69

Smith Phillips' client owned an 80 acre parcel of land that she accessed by an easement across an adjoining property to a public Road.  The State took a portion of the adjoining property for the construction of Interstate 69.  As a result, the property owner was deprived of access to her property.  Smith Phillips attorneys filed an inverse condemnation case against the State of Mississippi for the taking of the property owners right of access without compensation.  The case was ultimately settled before trial.
